Race Thru the Redwoods
This year’s Race Thru the Redwoods on August 15 was a rousing success. Over 200 entered from throughout Santa Cruz County and the Bay Area and from as far away as Sacramento. Runners negotiated a challenging 10K course that wound its way through scenic Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park terrain. Kids age 2 to 12 ran a 1-mile course. Zayante Fire provided breakfast at the end of the race. The event was organized by The Felton Business Association with proceeds going toward the town’s Memorial Day Parade, Holiday Tree Lighting, and other civic events in Felton. Proceeds also benefit the San Lorenzo High School track team and local charities.
